About
My name is Jon ‘Website’ Webster. I am a Freelance Web Designer. I live in Beaconsfield and my office is based in Old Amersham, Bucks.
A bit about me…
I was born in 1977 in High Wycombe, Bucks. Where I grew up. I was always interested in drawing and design, and knew from an early aged that I wanted to be a graphic designer (there was no such thing as web design at that time!).
After mediocre GCSEs, I went on to pursue my passion and studied Art & Design at Amersham College. After graduating, I went on to do a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication at The Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. I graduated from Birmingham in 1999. After university, I went traveling around the world for 8 months, and when I got back in October 2000, I started Binarylab.
Why Binarylab?
I came up with the name Binarylab while I was travelling. The concept being that a lab creates things, and anything on a computer could (in theory) be broken down to a series of Binary code. So a ‘Binary Lab’ could create anything from Websites and Presentations to Videos and Music.
It was also inspired by the French disco-pop band – Stereolab, which I always had a soft spot for, and loved their name.
Celebrating 10 Years!
Binarylab was officially launched on 1st October 2000 (01-10-00). So on the 1st of October 2010 (01-10-10) we will celebrated our 10th anniversary!
Outside work
I’m married to Jax, who I met skiing in Italy in 2001, and we got married in 2007. In October 2009 our lives changed (for the better) as Jax gave birth to our son, Oliver James.
If you work with me, at some point you will deal with Jax as she looks after my accounts.
Other Interests includes:
Surfing - My sister has a holiday home in North Devon, and we try and get down there as often as we can to go surfing. This is the website for the house (designed by me) www.lanternhouse.net
Football – I play 5-a-side football twice a week throughout the year, and 11-a-side throughout the season.
Dogs - I don’t have one myself, but I’ve always grown up with dogs, black labs are my favourite.
Music – Who doesn’t like music?
